We are a group of photographers and storytellers in Otautahi Christchurch collaboratively harnessing the power of storytelling to create, connect and celebrate our community.

Humans of Christchurch Ōtautahi is a Charitable Trust which honestly shares the stories of our people.


We:
COLLABORATE – listening and encouraging storytelling in our community to embrace it’s richness, diversity and heritage
CELEBRATE – Celebration of our community… our people and their stories
CONNECT – Build community links and mutual understanding through telling the honest stories of our people, empower others to have their voices heard.


PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The purpose of Humans of Christchurch Ōtautahi is to preserve the diverse stories and heritage of Christchurch Ōtautahi and encourage social cohesion, community collaboration.

The community of Christchurch Ōtautahi is defined by those living within the boundaries of the Christchurch City Council’s authority, including Banks Peninsula.

HOCO is a project that aims to increase the feeling of connectedness in Christchurch Ōtautahi by sharing the images and short one liners or stories of the people who live here. The project is led by a team of community volunteers passionate about sharing the stories of our people honestly.

We are a group of photographers and storytellers in Christchurch who are honestly sharing the stories of our people in our community.
